#201. Total Rufo Victory
Welcome to the NRP. We are curating the best of those extremely-online extremists known as the "New Right."
🧵Threads of the Week 🧵
> Last year,
and debated in the pages of the value of political activism (A Based Read of 2024). Yarv had spent 2023 criticizing Rufo for being a tryhard carelord who thought that incrementally reforming our sacred democracy could save us from destruction. Rufo’s activism, Yarvin argued, is useless in the long term because it’s tilting at problems that are actually just symptoms of the bigger problem (democracy). Well, the results are (sorta) in, and it looks like Rufo was right. His activism, despite the many hardships it brought him, really was worth it. Sure, they’re just executive orders, but the idea that this is even in political contention matters. Curtis Yarvin has since been yeeted to Panda Express Hell, where his ass is to be eternally battered and fried in seed oils by infernal Gen Z cacodemons.> On a similar note,
stuck his neck out when he wrote “The Unprotected Class,” a book about anti-white discrimination, which includes fixes for the current situation. Now Trump’s knocking them out one by one. Will these executive orders turn into policy change? Maybe not, but again the fact that these issues are even in contention is a huge win, and a testament to Carl’s work.> Curtis Yarvin was interviewed by the NYT in his finest leathers.
offered his “disenchantment” analysis, and> We don’t usually go in for “life was better in [insert decade]” nostalgia, but Jason Kessler’s right, the music of the 80s really is “unrecognizable in its romanticism and big-heartedness,” marked by its “belief in love.”

> We’ve been at this for two years and 200 posts, and never asked you for a penny. But did you know that, as of this week, you can now pay for the NRP? The Poast is a living document of the most vital subculture on the planet, work that we feel is essential and unique in the media ecosystem. We love documenting and explaining this stuff, and bringing you the cream of the crop. But while it may be fun, it doesn’t “just happen.” Please dig deep and consider supporting a worthwhile, singular project.

> The NYT’s James Pogue, an early mainstream chronicler of the New Right, put together a tidy summary of the recent brouhaha between the populist right and the tech right, perhaps a sign of an inevitable unraveling.
