Isaac is right about high trust communities (for the most part.) i have an ex who lived in Denmark and she spoke about it glowingly. But personally I moved out of Austin to a mid sized college city and I miss Austin like crazy.

I could live here for the rest of my life with a comfortable middle class job, a cute little house, a cute little wife, and that's the problem. 1.5 years later and I want back into the big pool with the sharks. The people, the electricity in the air, the activities and career opportunities. It's all there, not here.

Happy to have the pod back! Speaking of Ghibli memes, I made a full-blown animation of them. You'll like it.

That post about old ladies with cash boxes didn't fail, just wrong location.

It was beautiful and true. I talk about the double knit polyester slack ladies who taught us how to be social instead of snot flinging monsters in grade school.

So,

I think it's time you write that book no white guys are writing.

You know it/I know it.

You're broadcasting the itch, the dare.

I fear AM Hickman's new house, $115 annual taxes, no peers in town, and hotel subscriber business ideas will make him a scrapper's Disneyland to gawk at, and take him out of the fray and neuter his fire. Business and art in a fighting cage, business wins. It's okay. He deserves to stop roaming endlessly and cuddle his new wife and baby.

So go for it and don't be sure of anything because you can't be. It'll keep you funny.

I love that you are drawing together all the various threads present in the NRP into one cohesive bit of commentary.

Isn't it ironic? In a high-trust society, there is no need for a police state. Instead, "Every Breath You Take, (I'll be watching you)" by The Police will be the creepy Panopticon soundtrack of your life.

Great as always. I have to plug my recent article about Tate because I had the same thoughts as you about the fear people have of him. Actually, it was interesting to write about because it just illuminated how bad we were not so long ago with the progressive feminism indoctrination. We’ve made a lot more progress toward sanity than we give ourselves credit for.

I don’t remember Geneva, IL, ever being extremely liberal or even particularly liberal at all.

it’s not a mistake that fundamentalist religion and high trust are intertwined.

why would we have to move? can we not live where we want and still expect high trust decent behavior?

the admin needs to push harder. the way you win people over is not kowtowing to them. it’s following your plan and showing leadership and success. that will win over as many as you need from a popular support angle.

Awesome show, much support 👌🏼 yeah, I moved from ultra-liberal, white Wisconsin to Oakland Ca and ain’t moving back! Lol. But I think we need to differentiate: can’t we have high-trust without the ethnostate? Is it reeeaallly a package deal of culture and getting my fucking window smashed in? I really do believe we can have culture without grift, graft, and graffiti…right?!

I don't think it has to be an ethnostate, but you absolutely have to have norms that just about everyone is willing to abide by. Strong religion can also work.

Of course, the norms themselves have to make sense. Some things are truly arbitrary (many etiquette things, for instance), but some things are not (say, maybe, human sacrifice.)

Great to have you guys back! And just in time to listen to something for my Sunday putter projects too.

Quick question, and apologies in advance if I'm the one dummy who hasn't heard about some obvious study everyone is sick of that polluted twitter for a week,, but you did a blink-and-you-miss-it namedrop of "Rotheram being debunked" during your Chris Bray segment.

I did a search for Rotheram in the Bray piece, nothing. I did a google search on "rotheram masculinity," nothing.

Any chance you could link me to what you're referring to here?
