A brief reminder that, if you want to read Twitter threads but you don't have a Twitter account, you can go to threadreaderapp.com and read the full thing.
I appreciate Dudley finding the best of Twitter because, while some really good stuff does happen on Twitter, it fundamentally isn't "worth it" and this is how I read long interesting threads on Twitter without, well, Twitter.
That last tweet by Kendall is savage. "The Vessel" is the perfect name for a MAiD clinic. Hudson Yards is a soulless glass neighborhood built from scratch for corporations, luxury brands, and their millennial snot clientele.
That "Do men like women" author always presents some strawman of the male side and a gentle reasonable explanation while explaining the supposed mirror phenomenon that women represent. Typical trick of the nyt striver class.
In the excerpt you posted she contrasts some organic garden of bad experiences had by regular women with the big bad manosphere where the liars lie about virtuous women. How do you read that passage?
I'm reading it as "There's no Andrew Tate for women." The mechanisms for radicalization are different. She's not saying it's completely organic, it's experienced "through osmosis." The article is pretty critical of women.
Also I think there's something to the idea that the women who hate men seem to be women who've been burned in relationships whereas the men who hate women seem to be largely guys who aren't able to have relationships. An interesting distinction.
Thanks for replying Dudley, I can see where you're coming from and I guess I was just responding to what seemed like another sleight of hand framing device by a clever writer and maybe I will read the article.
I mean most women can have a relationship if they want one and it seems out of reach for at least some young men now so the distinction between how they arrive at their respective hates seems natural almost.
Left wing “snot” happens when you take yourself completely seriously as a moral arbiter. Right wing trolling is taking yourself half seriously and realizing you’re just some crazy internet hobo. The best crazy internet hobos take the time to fling the finest quality poo and garbage at the annoying Puritan lefties.
Needs more Bongland posts. Our current Chancellor of the Exchequer was never an economist, just some admin tart at a big bank. The PM os rumoured to have banged someone he shouldn't and the Foreign Minister just upbraided Putin at the UN by starting his speech with "as a black man". Oh, and the top contender to lead the Conservatives is a Nigerian anchor baby (we've banned them now).
If you know of anyone posting bangers (that's a viral tweet, not a sausage, bongbro) about these subjects feel free to send along. We don't really comment on the news, we just curate others' commentary.
I love the tweets but it makes me feel a little guilty. I'm all Substack now, just had a moment of weakness when I got on to sign Elon s million $ petition. But I'm not eligible to win cuz not in a swing-state and then I got insta-banned for typing "kysf" to a transvestigator account.
Fuck Twitter. Elon's cool, probably the antichrist though.
To save time compling “Best Tweets of 2024,” for starters just cut&paste this week’s “Tweets of the Week.” (The JD Vance “Pugsly” memes by Thad and John Thyroid top the list.)
On Brunet 'controversy': I see that Cofnas, Rufo and whatever other fellow travellers are straining to rewind to the pre Oct 7 *leftist* consensus on Israel and the diaspora. This is exactly the kind of thing I thought might happen with the new, open and inclusive new right. Rufo in linked piece comes across like a hope not hate or SPLC intern.
Ever since I was a kid I wanted take a stairway into the sky but when they finally built it people just used it to kill themselves. We can't have nice things.

Had the same exact thought. I bet it went over a lot of people’s heads

Civilization needs to triumph over the forces of barbarism.
Oh and Daniel Penny is a hero who Trump should pardon and build a statue for.

Half-trolling, if you will.
Shoshana holds her nose and votes for Trump ‘just this once’, but doesn’t tell anyone.

Another term is in the bag.
How does it feel to know that surely a non-zero number of shitlibs clicked through the Boer's link to your article and got absolutely rekd?
A few people have left comments in various places saying "I have to admit I am guilty of this..."

Did Brunet even say anything particularly edgy?
