I'm a huge fan of John Carter's (I'm actually a paid subscriber to his substack). So this is nothing against him or his fantastic ideas, but I noticed his and gio's guest episodes tended to swallowed up the show's format In favor of a sustained monologue on a single topic.
I know this is still early days, and the podcast is still finding its voice, but my vote is to keep the light and funny format and have the guest chime in with you on the week's events -- very 40,000 ft, fast and funny. You're an innately funny person, and I think that light comedic touch gets swallowed up by the longer guest monologues. Also, I've got enough long, ponderous podcasts to get through already -- having a light punchy one to perk up my commute was becoming a weekly highlight.
Genuinely appreciate the feedback, and it's something I had in the back of my mind during the recording of both episodes. This perspective is great to hear and I think you're right -- there are plenty of other deep-dive podcasts out there.

I certainly would have had no problem with that - I enjoy being quippy and fast, and don't get the chance to do it nearly often enough.
And also: thank you, my friend.

I played this "comedy podcast" to my children and they're crying...
I would like a refund
When I told everyone I was going to be a comedian, they all laughed.
No one's laughing now.
(Great discussion lads)
